PippinKits Bargello Tapestry Kits are so simple to make (they require just one simple stitch) but are so eye-catching when they’re finished. I have loved designing this Bargello project and am very excited 😆 to share this beautiful and traditional style of tapestry with you. I hope you love it too!
The Appletons wool included in all my kits is British from sheep to needle – it comes from the Yorkshire wool markets and is also dyed and spun in Yorkshire. Appletons prides itself on the quality and consistency of the wool it produces. It was founded in 1835 by Thomas Appleton and has a long history that includes being used by the famous 19th century designer William Morris.
It’s hard to believe that Bargello (which originated in Italy) has been around for centuries because it looks so modern and vibrant. It’s quick to work up, creating stunning patterns which are so full of colour. This one is based on the classic pomegranate pattern.
Perhaps it would make a lovely gift for friends or family members who might enjoy some proper thread therapy.
I hope you agree that this Bargello Cushion is a really pretty item. It’s such fun to do and it’s lovely to end up with something really useful too.
All the necessary wool and materials are included in each PippinKits Bargello Tapestry Cushion Kit along with detailed instructions. When finished it measures approximately 14”x14” (36cmx36cm). All you need to find at home to complete the project are some scissors and a 14” cushion pad - then you're good to go!
